Research Project
Occupant Thermal and Vision Comfort Analysis for Different Spaces Layout Models Using Agent-Based System Dynamics Approach
Postdoc Matching Fund Scheme, PI, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong (Aug. 2022 - Present)
This research project aims to identify the theoretical framework of occupant thermal and visual comfort analysis using a combined modelling approach in the built environment context. Towards this end, a hybrid model will be developed using agent-based and system dynamics approach for studying stochastic comfort profiles using different space layout patterns in low-income cultural contexts. The developed model will be further validated using confusion matrix and VR technology. The outcome of this research project will not only allow to understand the occupant comfort patterns and the relationship between occupant comfort and building space layout, but also provide an integrated platform between the agent-based and system dynamics for occupant behaviour modelling of building energy management.
